Breed Information
Few breeds can adapt and/or be trained for all areas of work and play. The
Papillon not only makes a superb pet but will train for almost any area of work.
They excel at obedience, tracking, agility, flyball, and outrageous tricks.

We breed for intelligence, sound temperament and good health. To win the
number of awards we have is a bonus.

The Papillon is a happy, out-going, elegant little toy dog with a mischievous
sparkle in his eye. Behind those round dark eyes lie an intelligent and quick mind,
making him one of the highest scoring and highest ranking titled breeds in
obedience.  Having a dainty appearance, he stands slightly longer in body than in
height on fine-boned legs. He carries a well plumed tail proudly in an arch over his
back when alert or in motion. The coat is silky in appearance with a resilient
quality that sheds dirt quickly with the touch of a brush. He does not have an
undercoat, so his fine, straight coat will remain tangle free with just a quick
brushing weekly. Minimal trimming is required, namely under the pads of the feet,
and he washes easily.  These little dogs are odorless as well as greaseless,
thereby leaving no evidence of their presence on your favorite chair. Shedding is
minimal and easy to control. The Papillon is a hardy and long lived breed, having
an average life span of 12-14 years or more.  Papillons are equally at home in
either a country cottage or a city apartment. They love to explore the countryside,
flushing birds and chasing animals. Yet, they can easily adapt to apartment living,
getting their exercise from chasing a ball and just plain having fun.  This little
fellow is most content just being with his family. Always the devoted companion,
the Papillon will love and protect his masters for as long as he lives.
